Tick-Borne Encephalitis

Tick-borne Encephalitis (TBE) is transmitted through the bite of an infected tick. It is endemic in temperate regions of Europe & Asia. Most cases occur during April-November. FSME-IMMUN is available in Canada and Encepur is available in Europe. There is no TBE vaccine available in USA. Three doses of rabies vaccine are required for active immunization and should be given on 0, 1-3 months, 9-12 months.
